On May 30, 2007, the District Court approved a comprehensive settlement agreement between mill owners, the Forest Service, the state, and conservation groups. The settlement addresses a series of lawsuits concerning timber sales on the Tongass National Forest, and is effective until the Forest completes its amendment of the 1997 Forest Plan.
