The Tongass Futures Roundtable is now accepting applications for new members. Applications received by February 1st will be reviewed by the Administrative Committee, which will make its recommendations to the full Roundtable at its February 27-28 meeting in Juneau. The Roundtable is seeking individuals who will ensure that the Roundtable encompasses broad representation of the stakeholder interests in the Tongass Forest and Southeast Alaska. The Roundtable adopted work plans for the Administrative, Framework, Mapping, Restoration, and Young Growth Committees at its December 2007 meeting. These work plans will guide the committees’ contribution towards meeting the goals of the Roundtable. Work plans for the Economic Sustainability and Quality of Life Committees will be reviewed by the full Roundtable in February. The McDowell Group and Headwaters Economics prepared a report entitled “Challenges and Opportunities in Southeast Alaska” at the Roundtable’s September 2007 meeting in Petersburg.  The powerpoint report is now being made available by clicking on the link, below.
