The Roundtable held its quarterly meeting in Sitka on December 3-4, 2009. View the decision log from the meeting. On the first day of the meeting, a panel on biomass energy discussed issues surrounding use of wood for space heating and other applications in Southeast Alaska. Included on the panel were Larry Mason of the University of Washington, David Saah of the University of San Francisco, Bob Deering of the U.S. Coast Guard, and Larry Edwards of Greenpeace. The next meeting of the Tongass Futures Roundtable meeting will take place at the Westmark Hotel on December 3-4, 2009. A revised draft agenda for the meeting can be accessed by clicking on the link below. In addition, the Administrative Committee will be recommending new work groups at the meeting. The Administrative Committee is pleased to post the results of the Roundtable Feedback Survey. The survey was conducted to help the Committee in its planning for the December Roundtable meeting scheduled for December 3-4 in Sitka. Seventy individuals responded to the survey. The results come in two files. One file contains the results of the multiple choice questions and is reported by category of respondents (e.g., members, alternates, interested parties). The Tongass Futures Roundtable will be meeting at the Anchorage Hilton (500 West 3rd Avenue) on October 1-2. This will be the first time that the Roundtable has met in Anchorage. A reception will be hosted by the Roundtable on the evening of September 30th, also at the Hilton. A draft agenda for the meeting can be found by going to the Meetings tab.
